There will be a lot of familiar faces at this year’s Chicago Cubs spring training. Over the offseason the Cubs have signed former players Kerry Wood, Reed Johnson, Todd Wellemeyer and Augie Ojeda.

Today, the Cubs announced the 21 non-roster players that have been invited to their spring training. The two newest additions to the group of 21 are Braden Looper and the former Cub, Ojeda.

The 21 players are:

Pitchers (7): righthanders Chris Carpenter, Angel Guzman, Jay Jackson, Looper, Trey McNutt and Wellemeyer and lefthander Scott Rice

Catchers (2): Steve Clevenger and Chris Robinson

Infielders (7): Matt Camp, Bryan LaHair, Scott Moore, Ojeda, Bobby Scales, Marquez Smith and Josh Vitters

Outfielders (5): Jim Adduci, Brett Jackson, Johnson, Luis Montanez and Brad Snyder

Notes:
Cubs’ outfield prospect Brett Jackson was recently named the No. 46 prospect in all of baseball by MLB.com. Other local players making the Top 50 include Chicago White Sox’s pitcher Chris Sale (No. 25) and Colorado Rockies pitcher, and Chicagoland native, Christian Friedrich (No. 50).
