Suburban Sex Offender Accused Of Attacking Woman

JOLIET, Ill. (STMW) - A registered sex offender from southwest suburban Joliet has been arrested after reportedly molesting a woman last month after a night of drinking.

Michael G. Wallace, 33, of the 6300 block of Black Hill Ridge, was booked into the county jail on a charge of criminal sexual assault.

"On Dec. 3, Wallace, his wife, another friend and the victim went out to a local bar to drink and socialize before they went back to Wallace's residence," Deputy Chief Mike Trafton said.

"While they were smoking in the garage, Wallace exposed himself and ordered the victim to perform oral sex on him. When she refused he grabbed her and forced her to … striking her in the head."

Wallace was allegedly persuaded to stop his assault and went to sleep.

The 22-year-old victim notified police a short time later and an investigation began, Trafton said. After interviews were competed and the case was reviewed, Wallace was arrested Thursday.

State police records list Wallace as a "sexual predator" for producing or distributing child pornography of a 9-year-old victim three years ago.
