The Chicago Blackhawks were a big part of the 2011 NHL All-Start Game. And the All-Star game was big for the NHL.
Center Patrick Sharp brought home the game’s MVP award, but Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane and Duncan Keith were part of the winning team. Blackhawks coaches Joel Quenneville and Mike Haviland coached Team Staal.
The NHL All-Star game’s television ratings are up one-third from the last game two years ago.
The game Sunday on Versus drew a 1.2 rating, a 33 percent increase from 2009. The league didn’t hold an All-Star game last year because of the Olympics.
Ratings represent the percentage of homes with televisions tuned into a program.
