2 Men Wounded In Humboldt Park Shooting

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Two men were shot and seriously wounded Monday in a drive-by incident in the Humboldt Park neighborhood.

The shooting happened in the 800 block of North Richmond Street at 1:10 a.m., police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.

The two men, both 23, were standing on the sidewalk when someone in a light-colored SUV driving by shot at them, police said.

One man was shot in the abdomen, while the other was wounded in the back, Alfaro said.

The men were both taken to Norwegian-American Hospital a short distance from the crime scene, police said. They were then both transferred to Stroger Hospital of Cook County, where they were reported in serious condition.

No one was in custody early Monday, police said.
