Police: Woman, 33, Stabbed Man To Death

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A South Austin neighborhood woman has been charged with stabbing a man to death on the city's Near West Side over the weekend.

Laconda McDonald, 33, of the 4900 block of W. West End Avenue, was charged with first-degree murder and armed robbery, according to a police News Affairs release. She was also wanted on a warrant, police said.

Police were called to a third-floor apartment in the 2300 block of West Jackson Boulevard about 11:50 p.m. where they found the victim lying on the floor of his apartment in a pool of blood, stabbed, according to police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli.

The man stabbed was identified as Julius Goodman, 56, who was dead on the scene at 2333 W. Jackson Blvd., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

A Sunday autopsy found Goodman died of a stab wound to the neck and ruled his death a homicide, according to the medical examiner's office.

McDonald is scheduled to appear in Violence Court (Br.66) at the Cook County Criminal Courthouse later Wednesday for a bond hearing.
