Candidates Court Voters Before Election

CHICAGO (WBBM) -- Candidates spent quality time with voters on one of the last weekends before the Chicago mayoral election.

As WBBM Newsradio 780's Michele Fiore reports, Rahm Emanuel spent time shaking hands and saying thank you at a Hyde Park campaign headquarters where volunteers spent hours calling voters.

"I look around this room, as I did the other day when I led people to early vote, I see the promise of the city of Chicago. I see people from different backgrounds, different experiences, all working toward one goal," Emanuel said, "and that's our objective."

Meanwhile, Carol Moseley Braun attended a lecture on the South Side. Gery Chico had a rally at Roberto Clemente High School at Western Avenue and Division Street, and Patricia Van Pelt Watkins and Miguel Del Valle held meet and greets.

"People are, after hearing candidates, changing their votes," Del Valle said, "and so, it's very fluid out there."

Candidate William "Dock" Walls is planning a rally outside City Hall Monday.
