Ryan: 'Gray Area' For Big Ten Tournament Hopes

There are eight Big Ten teams ranked in the top 68 teams in the country based on RPI. But not all eight of those teams will be able to extend their season into the NCAA Tournament.

"It's still a gray area," Wisconsin Badgers' head coach Bo Ryan said on the Mully and Hanley Show when asked how many Big Ten teams would make the tournament. "I think there are some teams that are still working on some things, and we are too. We were fortunate to get that game at Iowa, they played extremely well (Wisconsin won 62-59). And I think there are some teams that are definitely good enough to play with whoever is going to get into the tournament at the end.

"But how many from the league? I'm not sure, because these last four weeks...you have five, six game for each team and a lot can happen in those five, six games. So I just think it's too early to call. I think after this week there will be some separation though."

The Big Ten Tournament lasts from March 10-13 and may be the final opportunity for teams like Illinois and Michigan State to get in and for teams like Wisconsin and Purdue to improve their seeding.
