Bulls' Coach: Rose 'Leads By Example'

In the grand scheme of the NBA, Derrick Rose is still a very young player. And despite that, he's already put himself in the conversation to be the best point guard and the league's MVP. But his leadership can't be overlooked.

The Chicago Bulls sit in third place in the Eastern Conference and are without a doubt Rose's team. He's led the Bulls by not only his performance on the court, but also with his leadership on and off it.

"I think Derrick is a very good leader," Ron Adams, Bulls' assistant coach, said on the Mully and Hanley Show."I think people make a fundamental error when they think that you have to be mouthy to be a leader. Derrick gets his point across to this team. Derrick's voice, even though not as vociferous as perhaps some leaders, is heard and his voice carries, [it] has gravity."

Not all leaders are the ones chirping to their teammates and delivering inspirational speeches. Often times leaders are the ones who work harder than anyone else and bring their best efforts night in and night out.

"I think Derrick leads by example more than anything else," Adams said. "He's more vocal than people think, and is one of those guys that when he says something, it doesn't have to be that many words, people get it. So I think he's coming along well for a guy who should be a university senior. In the big world of the NBA, I think his leadership is coming along nicely."
