Gery Chico On The Election

CHICAGO (CBS) — With less than a week until Election Day, we wanted to hear from the candidates for mayor in person. So we’ve invited the four frontrunners to sit down for interviews on issues important to the campaign.

It’s Gery Chico’s turn.

He’s 54 years old and was Mayor Daley’s chief-of-staff from 1992 through 1995. The he was president of Chicago Board of Education and president of the Chicago Park District and chief of the Chicago City Colleges.

He and his wife Sunny together have five children and one grandchild.

In four days bye bye Chico….landslide for Emmanuel.

Whatever Chico! You were sniffing Daley’s seat for years as his puppet and never challenged him so what’s different now? You’re nothing but a continuation of Daley. You were in charge of the schools and they still suck to the point where people are leaving the city in order to get their kids into good schools. If you were elected Mayor, what would be different now since you just set there by Daley’s side while he ran this city into the ground? You’re no better than his rubber stamp city council. You call Rahm an outsider and say he’s not Chicago enough. Well, that’s exactly what this city needs, an outsider who doesn’t owe anyone in city hall any favors. Chico, you’re a phony and come Tuesday, you can go crawl back into your hole.

rahm will ruin this city we will be the next detroit

    • Philip J. Wayne

Jeremy you aren’t very bright….that is not going to happen under Rahm’s leadership…he is a winner…not like the three stooges, Chico Marx, Carol Mostly Fraud and Da Da Da Da Da Da Del Valle….we are shipping them to Detroit along with you on Tuesday. don’t let the door hit you on the way out..

Rahms ties to earning $18.5 million as an investment lobbyist and $320k from sitting on Freddie Mac’s board reeks of corruption. The campaign of Obama hired me, has worked in the polls, but the vote is what matters…

Chico is the most qualified candidate to serve the city. Chico will prove to be a vital asset because of his experience planning 16 municipal budgets.

    • Philip J. Wayne

Chico is a low life, mud slinging, political hack, thug from the sixties….he isn’t qualified for public office.

Rahms Emanuel worked for himself or for people from federal gov., Gery Chico spend his life working in Chicago for Chicago. I do not have dilemma who will be a better mayor.

To the one who loves john wayne (i.e., philip j. wayne). Chico is the man to vote for this Tuesday. He will make the best mayor for all the people and their various situations. Businesses, schools, unions, parks, religious institutions, transportation, jobs, etc., all will thrive with Chico at the helm. Rahm will pick and choose and lose Chicago’s glory. It is as clear as a rainbow across the Lake Michigan Chicago skyline who the best candidate is and it is Gery Chico for all the right reasons. Schools got much better with Chico’s leadership. He worked at different times for Daley in various positions. Others sniffed, Chico breathed and worked successfully in all his public and private and political jobs.

I am a resident of Edgewater and I feel Mr. Chico is best qualified to be our next mayor. I especially respect the fact that Mr. Chico has built a financially successful law firm and has “kept local”. When Mr. Emanuel was my congressman, he seemed much more concerned with Washington matters than Chicago.
    “Macht’s Gut”, Herr Chico!
