CHICAGO (STMW) – A 30-year-old Alsip man died early Sunday morning after crashing into a school bus on the Tri-State Tollway in the northwest suburbs Saturday afternoon.

David Ramirez was traveling southbound on the Tri-State (I-294) in Rosemont at 4:57 p.m. when he crashed into the rear of a school bus, said State Police Tollway District Sgt. R. Story.

Ramirez was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, where he died at 2 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

There were no children on the school bus and no other injuries were reported, Story said. Ramirez was alone in the car.

I am still completely in shock over this news. You couldn’t find a nicer person, which makes stories like these so difficult to see. Dave was a great guy, and this is one of the hardest things to imagine. Rest in peace brother!
