Aspiring Model Charged With Child Porn

LINCOLNSHIRE, Ill. (STMW) -- A Northbrook woman was charged last week with allegedly using a 14-year-old Glenview girl in sexually explicit photographs shot in Lincolnshire.

Paula R. Ferdkoff, 19, of the 600 block of Greenwood Road in Northbrook, faces two felony counts of soliciting a minor to engage in child pornography and two felony counts of possession of child pornography, Lincolnshire police said Monday.

Ferdkoff is a model who allegedly met the 14-year-old through the girl's older brother, one of Ferdkoff's friends.

"She wanted to do an erotic photo shoot to advance her modeling career, and needed a partner for that, and enlisted this girl," Lincolnshire investigator John-Erik Anderson said Monday.

The portrait session took place July 12 at Digital Effects, 185 Milwaukee Ave., police said. The telephone number for Digital Effects is disconnected.

In early August, the girl's mother discovered the photographs on the family computer, police said. The mother also knows Ferdkoff and immediately called her.

An angry conversation ensued, police said, and it ended with Ferdkoff calling Glenview police and filing a harassing telephone call complaint against the girl's mother.

Glenview police officers followed up on the complaint, and the mother told them that she believed her daughter had been used in child pornography that Ferdkoff solicited, Lincolnshire police said. Glenview officers contacted Lincolnshire officers, who interviewed Ferdkoff and reported finding a compact disc with the illegal images in her car.

On Aug. 13, Lincolnshire police searched Digital Effects and the photographer's home, seizing computers and mobile telephones. Searches of such devices often take a month or more; the investigation is ongoing, police said.

Ferdkoff could not post bond and was taken to Lake County Jail, police said.
