Man Caught Trying To Lure Girl Into Van

CHICAGO (CBS/WBBM) -- Police have caught a man who allegedly tried to lure an 11-year-old girl into his van three different times.

As WBBM Newsradio 780's Bernie Tafoya reports, police say Ignacio Castrejon, 55, of the 2700 block of South Avers Avenue, had been trying to entice the girl into his Oldsmobile Silhouette minivan as she walked to school.

It would happen when she was walking along Sawyer Avenue near 27th Street, in the Little Village neighborhood.

Police were told Tuesday about the previous incidents and set up a sting Wednesday in the area where the girl had seen the man. Sure enough, the van rolled by, and the driver approached the girl, rolled down the window, and said in Spanish: "Ven, ven,'' which means "come, come."

After the van pulled away, officers stopped Castrejon at 2711 S. Sawyer Ave., where he was arrested just before 8:30 a.m. Wednesday The victim identified him and he was charged Wednesday afternoon.
