Man Killed In Multi-Vehicle Crash In NW Suburb
STREAMWOOD, Ill. (STMW) - A 49-year-old Elgin man died Monday afternoon in a multi-vehicle crash in northwest suburban Streamwood.
The man -- identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner's office as Israel Valleperez was involved in a crash at around 2:15 p.m. near 501 E. Lake St., according to a Village of Streamwood press release.
Four vehicles and "several victims" were involved in the crash, the release said, but additional details about the incident were scarce.
It was unclear Monday evening if there were additional fatalities or how serious the other injuries were. The status of the victims was not being released pending notification of the families, the release said.
Streamwood Police are investigating.
