Waukegan Library Wants To Keep Free Parking
WAUKEGAN, Ill. (WBBM) -- The Waukegan Library Board of Trustees hopes it's not too late to persuade city aldermen to change their mind on new parking regulations.
As WBBM Newsradio 780's Michele Fiore reports, taxpayers already pay for the Waukegan Public Library, so, some trustees say, why make them pay for parking?

"We are wholly against it as a library board," said Library Board trustee Bill Anderson.
He thinks the Waukegan City Council has made a serious mistake by taking away the library's free two-hour parking.
"It's used by many people, including an awful lot of kids that do their homework at night, elderly people, people with limited means – and I think it's going to severely impact the patrons who get to use it," Anderson said.
Anderson is hoping aldermen will change their minds, and reinstate the free two hour library parking.
