Tampa Bay's Kubina Suspended For Hit On Bolland
Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Pavel Kubina has been suspended for three games for his hit on Chicago Blackhawks center Dave Bolland.
In the first period of the Blackhawks' 4-3 shootout loss, Kubina delivered an elbow to the head of Bolland. Bolland left the game and wouldn't return.
In addition to the suspension, Kubina will be fined $60,096.76, which is based off his average salary for three games. The money will be put towards the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
