2 Firemen Injured Battling Garfield Park Blaze

CHICAGO (STMW) - Two firefighters were injured during a fire on the West Side Saturday morning.

The fire started at a residential building at 4021 W. Wilcox Street, according to Fire Media Affairs spokesman Kevin MacGregor.

Police said the fire started about 7:30 a.m.

Two firefighters who were injured during the blaze were both taken by ambulance to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in good condition, MacGregor said.

One man had back pain and the other firefighter pulled a muscle when a porch partially gave way. No one else was hurt and as of 9 a.m., the fire was out, MacGregor said.
