Woman Shot In Back Of The Yards
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A woman was wounded Thursday during a drive-by shooting in the South Side Back of the Yards neighborhood.
At 7:10 p.m., a 18-year-old woman was standing on the sidewalk in the 4500 block of South Hermitage Avenue when she was struck by gunfire from an assailant in a gray vehicle, police said.
She was taken in serious condition to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County with a gunshot wound to the abdomen area, police said.
Wentworth Area detectives are investigating, but no one is in custody Thursday evening.
