Coach: Badgers Focused, Know What's At Stake

On Thursday night, the Wisconsin Badgers will take on the Butler Bulldogs for a chance to advance to the Elite Eight, but there's no secret gameplan for head coach Bo Ryan to pull out.

"You play basketball," Ryan said on the Mully and Hanley Show when talking about preparing for Butler. "You try to get good shots, take care of it, try to defend the other team, rebound the ball. We're going to play the game the way it's listed in the rulebook as much as we can, and just try to end up on the left-hand side and see what happens."

New Orleans, the location of Thursday's game, can be a very entertaining city for college students. At the same time it can also be filled with trouble when those students have a game to play. But Ryan isn't worried about what might happen off the court.

"Our guys are pretty focused," he said. "First of all, you recruit the kind of guys that are. And we're not in the business of doing anything other than put our young men in the best position to learn, about everything, on the court, off the court, have a good experience...These are mature young men. They know what's at stake here, they know what they want and they're going to try to go get it. That's what's great about dealing with these guys."
