Rose Will Donate $1K For Every Point He Scores On Friday

When the Chicago Bulls take the court agaisnt the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday, Bulls fans will have another reason to cheer every time Derrick Rose scores.

The Bulls' MVP candidate will be donating $1,000 to Direct Relief International. Rose and 19 other NBA players are raising money to help the people of Japan recover from the devastating earthquake and tsunami of March 11.

It could turn into a pretty expensive night for Rose, who's averaging 24.9 points per game this season, but has scored 30 and 42 points in two of the Bulls' last three games.

Brian Scalabrine will also be making a donation through Direct Relief International, although his will be a set amount and not based on his scoring.

Rose, LaMarcus Aldridge, Marc Gasol, Pau Gasol, Al Horford, JaVale McGee, and Russell Westbrook will be donating per point. And Scalabrine, DJ Augustin, Jarron Collins, Jason Collins, Mike Dunleavy Jr., Tyreke Evans, Danilo Gallinari, Xavier Henry, Antawn Jamison, Jason Kapono, Quincy Pondexter, Etan Thomas, and Ben Wallace will be donating a set amount.
