They snapped up Mega Millions tickets by the handful, with dreams of what to do with all that money.
One man said he planned to “give a lot of it away, really, to help people that are less fortunate.”
Many of the would-be millionaires are familiar with the story of Irving Przyborski of Chicago, who nearly missed a Thursday deadline to collect $9 million in Illinois Lottery winnings before his ticket expired.
“He had it with his income tax papers from last year,” a man said. “Good for him.”
So the Mega Millions customers are checking tickets and making sure they don’t have any stashed away.
“Not that I know of; let’s hope not,” a woman said.
The Mega Millions drawing is Friday night.
