Firefighters Rescue Person From Burning Home

CHICAGO (STMW) - Firefighters rescued a person from the basement of a burning Humboldt Park home Monday night on the West Side.

The fire started about 9 p.m. in a home in the 4300 block of West Augusta Boulevard, Fire Media Affairs spokesman Joe Roccasalva said.

Firefighters rescued a person trapped in the basement and took them in "stable" condition to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park with smoke inhalation, Roccasalva said. An age and gender were not immediately available.

Nobody else was injured, Roccasalva said.
