CHICAGO (CBS) – A dog was rescued from the Chicago River Tuesday near Chinatown.

The dog was rescued from the Chicago River at 18th Street Tuesday, officials said.

The owner was walking the dog in Ping Tom Memorial Park, located along the river south of 18th Street, when the dog fell in.

There were no injuries.

    The dog was running for his life in Chinatown. He could have easily been someone’s lunch.

    Dog was probably escaped from Chinese restaurant, was going to be someones dinner …. made a break for it and jumped in the river , smart dog
