Olczyk: 'Just Get Into The Playoffs And See What Happens'

Heading into Tuesday night's game, the Chicago Blackhawks sit in eighth place in the Western Conference, three points ahead of the Calgary Flames. And there might not be much reason to worry about their seed, as long as they get in.

"We've seen it in all of sports, let alone the National Hockey League last year," former Blackhawk and current analyst Eddie Olczyk said on the Danny Mac Show. "A team like Philadelphia gets in, in the last day of the regular season, in a shootout, as the eight seed. And they get in and they end up getting to game six agaisnt the 'Hawks and the 'Hawks end up winning the Stanley Cup. But just give yourself a chance to get in.

"And it's been a playoff push for how long? It's been a grind, it's been a battle. They've lost two key guys in Patrick Sharp and Davey Bolland. Everybody has injuries, Detroit has had a whole boat load of them and they're still up near the Western Conference [lead]. Just get into the playoffs and see what happens."
