Man Grabs And Fondles Teen Girl On Near South Side

CHICAGO (STMW) — Police are looking for a man accused of forcing a 17-year-old girl into a car and fondling her before she could escape Monday morning on the Near South Side.

The reported criminal sexual abuse happened near 26th and State about 10 a.m. Monday, according to an alert from Wentworth Area detectives.

The man forced the teen into a four-door car, then fondled her. She escaped and he then drove away, the alert said.

The man was 30 to 35, 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-8 with a thin build and closely cut, faded hair, the alert said. He was black with a medium complexion, and was last seen wearing a dark sweatshirt with a turtleneck collar, dark blue jeans, and purple and black Nike shoes.

His vehicle is described as a smaller four-door which was dark green with a tan sun roof, the alert said.

Anyone with information should call detectives at (312) 747-8380.

What exactly is “Fondling”? It sounds bad, but….

    • Don

To be caressed with sexual intentions. That’s what the dictionary says. Bottom line, she didn’t want this wierd person to take her into his car and touch him. Hide your kids, hide your wives…

  • Christine

That is not very specific there Don. What is being suggested here? What is fondling, really?

  • Bev Grier

Its never okay to touch anyone ever. Even if you know them!!!!!!

    • Mr. Justice

Unless they approve of the touching and are of legal age.

      • Brenda

What is fondling refering to? Is this another word for penetration? Does carressing fall into the category of fondling? Is this a crime? Or is the media blowing it out of proportion? Does anyone really know?

  • Mr. Justice

Glad the young woman was able to escape from the vehicle.
