Cubs’ Cashner And Wells Headed To DL

The Chicago Cubs received some bad news on Wednesday, both Andrew Cashner and Randy Wells are headed to the disabled list. This was confirmed by 670 The Score’s Connor McKnight.

Cashner was lifted from his first career start after 5.1 innings with what was described as “shoulder stiffness,” he underwent an MRI on Tuesday. The MRI results revealed that Cashner suffered a strained rotator cuff.

Wells will head to the DL with a strained right forearm.

Both pitchers will be re-evaluated in two weeks.

The Cubs will call up Casey Coleman, the second call-up has not been announced. According to manager Mike Quade, James Russell is in the mix to start while both pitchers are out.

And since Dempster sucks right now, it’s going to be a loooooong April and May I have a feeling.

This tells me that their pitching did not leave Arizona “ready for the season.”
Two guys on the DL, and one with accuracy problems.
Samardizja and Mataeo (ckhe splineg)–heck Marshall–give me goosebumps.

Or, they’re being told to pitch way to hard in these early games.
April ball should be about starting a conga line and out lasting the other team; not trying to strike out every batter.
But, hey, 3 and 3 could be worse.
    go Baltimore????

    too hard. it’s too hard.

    that’s what she said.
