Claim: Drew Peterson Offered Stacy Peterson's Clothes To Woman

CHICAGO (WBBM) -- A suburban woman says Drew Peterson offered to give her the clothing of his missing fourth wife, Stacy.

But Peterson's lawyer says Peterson was betrayed by the woman, who wrote letters to Peterson after the ex-cop was jailed on charges that he killed his third wife, Kathleen Savio.

One of the letters from Diana Grandel to Peterson, which included a picture of Grandel in a bikini, was signed, "Love you! Forever and always stay strong!"

Peterson's lawyer Joel Brodsky says Grandel got in touch with Peterson to support him because he'd helped keep her safe from an abusive father when Peterson was a police officer.

After the correspondence began, Peterson reportedly offered to give Grandel the clothes of his missing fourth wife, Stacy.

Grandel has now sold her story to the National Enquirer.

Brodsky says he's not aware that Peterson ever offered to give Grandel Stacy Peterson's clothes.

"Money makes people do funny things," Brodsky says. "All of a sudden she's willing to stab Drew in the back. I think that's pretty sad."
