CHICAGO (STMW) - Two people who fell into DuSable Harbor downtown Friday night were hospitalized — one in critical condition — after they were rescued by police and fire crews.

LISTEN: Newsradio 780′s Nancy Harty reports

Fire Department personnel and the Police Marine Unit responded to 111 N. Lake Shore Drive — DuSable Harbor — about 9:45 p.m. for a report of two people in the water, according to Marine Unit Officer Leticia Kaner.

One person was taken in critical and another in “stable” condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Fire Media Affairs spokesman Rich Rosado said. The victims’ genders and ages were not immediately available.

According to unconfirmed dispatch reports, one person was in a wheelchair.
