Fatal Shooting Similar To Attack About 2 Weeks Ago

UPDATED: 4/11/2011 2:45 p.m.
CHICAGO (WBBM) -- A shooting that left a 22-year old man dead on 74th Street and Vincennes Avenue Sunday afternoon was very similar to a shooting on that same block about two weeks ago.

Newsradio 780's Bernie Tafoya reports, police say that both shootings appear to have been gang-related. They happened in broad daylight. And both involved someone getting out of one vehicle and walking towards and shooting at someone in another vehicle.

In the shooting on March 29th, no one was shot, but nearly a dozen people were injured after the car being shot at crashed into a CTA bus.

Yesterday's shooting left a 22-year old man dead.

Christopher Daniels, 22, of the 6200 block of South Perry Avenue, was pronounced dead at Northwestern Memorial Hospital at 5:17 p.m. Sunday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

Anthony Redditt owns Ryan Anthony's Restaurant on that block and says the violence has to stop.

He and customers say they hope the shootings the past couple of weeks are not a sign of things to come.

One minister who frequents the restaurant says the shootings could have happened anywhere and were coincidentally on the same block.

But customer Bonita Pryor says she's afraid in her own community even to walk her dog. "It's just really stressful", she says.

Police have no suspects in either shooting.
