Man Shot While Trying To Help Brother In Fight

CHICAGO (STMW) - A 20-year-old man who tried to come to the aid of his brother who was in a fight in the Far South Side Roseland neighborhood Monday afternoon was shot by one of the teens who were fighting with his brother.

About 4:10 p.m., the man saw his brother involved in a fight with a group of teens on the 11000 block of South Union Avenue, according to a report from police News Affairs.

The man went to assist his brother, when he was shot in the left shoulder, police said.

He was taken to Roseland Community Hospital, where his condition was "stable" Monday night.

No one was in custody Monday night.

Calumet Area detectives are investigating.
