Motorist Seriously Hurt By Gunfire On South Side
CHICAGO (STMW)-- A man was seriously wounded Sunday afternoon while driving in the South Chicago neighborhood on the South Side.
At 2:03 p.m., someone shot a 30-year-old man was shot in the upper left chest and right arm while at 79th Street and Marquette Avenue, police News Affairs Officer Anne Dwyer said.
The victim was driving a vehicle when he was struck by gunfire in the area, according to a South Chicago District police lieutenant.
Dwyer said the man was taken in serious condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
Calumet Area detectives are investigating.
