Peavy Pulled After Only 15 Pitches In Rehab Start

ST. PETERSBURG, Fl. (STMW) -- Jake Peavy lasted only 15 pitches Monday night and was out of his rehabilitation start after allowing three runs on four hits against Mississippi.

Peavy, who was targeted to return to the Chicago White Sox on April 29, was scheduled to throw at least 90 pitches in his third rehab start for Double-A Birmingham. Peavy is recovering from a detached latissimus dorsi muscle near his right shoulder, and he suffered right rotator tendinitis one month ago.

Donell Linares hit a two-run double off Peavy and scored on a single by C.J. Retherford, a former Sox minor league player.

Peavy threw two thirds of an inning and didn't walk or strike out a batter. He threw 10 pitches for strikes.
