Teen Shot, Killed In South Side Home

Updated 04/22/11 – 10:17 a.m.

CHICAGO (CBS) — A teenage boy was shot and killed Friday morning in a home in the South Side’s Hamilton Park neighborhood.

At 7:42 a.m., police were notified that a man was found shot inside a home in the 7000 block of South May Street, according to police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli.

Chicago Fire Department Media Affairs Chief Kevin MacGregor said their crews went to the scene but did not take anyone to a hospital – a report which often means a victim has died.

As of 9:30 a.m. a representative from the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office was on the scene where a 16-year-old boy had been shot.

Wentworth Area detectives are investigating.
