CHICAGO (CBS) – A man was sent to the hospital Friday morning, after being stabbed in the leg during an argument at a West Woodlawn neighborhood restaurant.

About 2:30 a.m. the 30-year-old man was inside the restaurant at 6359 S. King Dr. when he began arguing with another man, according to a Grand Crossing District police captain.

The man he argued with took out a knife and stabbed the victim in the leg before fleeing, according to the captain.

The injured man was taken to Stroger Hospital of Cook County in an unidentified condition.

The suspect was not in custody Friday morning and a motive was not clear, according to the captain.

Sammy’s Grill & Restaurant is located at the King Drive address.

As Mayor Daley would say, I AM OUTRAGED! This has got to stop! We must have stricter “knife control”. I want to outlaw all knifes in Chicago and Illinois. People do not need knifes, I mean come on, do we want to revert back to medieval times again? I don’t think so. So, I am asking everyone to go to your local police department and turn in your knifes. There will no questions asked. We will trade you one spoon for every knife turned in.

Sum of you all are sum disrespectful bunch, this is my brother (biological). I came on here just to see if police had leads, and you all laughing like it’s a joke. My brother died and was brought back to life (through the grace of GOD), and still fighting for his life. Family coming and seeing how unrecognizable he look from the swelling of his face from fluid build up. It hurts and it’s appalling to see a reflection of your numbness to violence projected on to my brother because of frequent violence running rapid in inner cities.
