Man Shot Dead In West Side Restaurant

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A man was shot and killed overnight while sitting in a restaurant on the city's West Side.

The 22-year-old victim was inside Papa Joe's Fast Food, 610 S. Central Park Ave, about 9:05 p.m. when the shooter opened fire, striking him in the chest, police said.

The victim was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, Alfaro said. He suffered multiple gunshot wounds, and was pronounced dead at the hospital at 11:01 p.m., the Cook County Medical Examiner's office said.

The victim was identified as Darrius Green, of an unknown home address, the medical examiner's office said.

It was not immediately known whether the man was targeted. The motive for the shooting is not known.

Harrison Area detectives are investigating, but no one was in custody early Tuesday.
