She was resting at home Friday evening, a spokesperson for the mayor said. Mayor Richard M. Daley said earlier in the day that his wife was feeling much better and expected her to come home, Newsradio 780’s Bob Roberts reports.

Mrs. Daley was re-admitted to Northwestern on Thursday, two days after being released following recuperation from surgery to replace a metal rod in her right leg. The procedure was necessary because of her ongoing cancer treatments.

Maggie Daley has battled breast cancer since 2002.  It later metastasized to her bones.
