Charges Possible Next Week In Death Of Round Lake Park Woman
CHICAGO (CBS) — Lake County prosecutors could file charges next week in connection with the apparent drug-related death of a Round Lake Park woman, who was found more than a week after she was reported missing.
The body of Melissa Ann Best was found in her van in an apartment complex in Grayslake, 10 days after she was last seen. Law enforcement officials believe she had driven to a hotel to meet friends in Waukegan, where she died on the same day that she went missing.

Charges could include drug-induced homicide or concealment of a death against the individual or individuals who met with Best the day she died, according to Round Lake Park police Chief George Filenko.
Police believe drugs were involved in Best’s death. Opiates were found in her system, but more detailed toxicology results will not be available until next week.
