Train Hits, Kills Man In Blue Island

BLUE ISLAND, Ill. (STMW) – A man is dead after being struck by a train in south suburban Blue Island Saturday morning.

The unidentified 57-year-old man was dead on the scene at Chatham Street and Thornton Road, according to a spokesman for the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

The spokesman said they were notified about 4:30 a.m. of the death.

A Blue Island police supervisor could not be reached for comment.

    So sorry to hear a man was killed by train. Please people be careful when crossing the railroad tracks. Specially on the car or truck. The trains comes so fast and are not able to stop because of the weight they carry.
    May God have this poor soul in his presence and give him rest for eternity. And to their family confort on this tragic loss.
