Bears' Carimi To Lead Jewish Unity Parade

CHICAGO (CBS) Gabe Carimi was drafted by the Chicago Bears with the 29th overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. For Bears fans excited to get their first look at the 6'7″ 314-pound, Cottage Grove, WI native, they'll get that chance on May 22.

Although it won't be while wearing a helmet and shoulder pads, Carimi will make his first public appearance when he leads the Jewish Unity Parade in Skokie.

"I'm very excited to join the Chicago Bears this fall," Carimi said in a promotional video for the parade.

As a senior offensive lineman for the University of Wisconsin, Carimi was named the 2010 Outland Trophy winner as well as the 2010 Big Ten Offensive Lineman of the Year.

Carimi will hopefully improve an offensive line that gave up the most sacks in the NFL during the 2010 season.
