CHICAGO (STMW) — A man was fatally shot early Sunday at his South Chicago home.

Christian Pichardo, 18, of 8519 S. Muskegon Ave., was shot at his home and was dead on the scene, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

Police responded at 4:32 a.m. and found the man dead with multiple gunshot wounds, police News Affairs Officer Anne Dwyer said.

A Monday autopsy determined Pichardo died of multiple gunshot wounds and the death was ruled a homicide.

The murder happened just a block from an apparently unrelated shooting less than eight hours earlier.

At 8:58 p.m. Sunday, a 19-year-old man walked into Advocate Trinity Hospital with a gunshot wound to the shoulder, Dwyer said.

Nobody is in custody for either shooting.

Calumet Area detectives are investigating.

Sorry Christian for the way the law prevents parents to discipline our children the way we need to.maybe these idiots would have something better to do if their parents took time to raise them properly and beat their behinds like they should none of this would of happened. I blame the law, then the parents, there’s no excuse ..love you Christian son of my best friend Marcos a pichardo..rest in peace, love you kid.(the fesman)…

  • Belen Huerta

i think we should not blame anyone if you did not know them. He was a great Kid. And hope that the person that did this gets arrested. I will make sure that this person goes behind bars.

      • Belen Huerta

        the parents. or the law

  • The fesman

I’m blaming THE parents of the people or person who did this to Christian. Who else am I gonna blame?the law got parents scared to go to jail for disciplining their children. I don’t know Belen I have mixed feelings about this one.sorry

I had the chance to get to know Christian through his attending of Lincoln’s Challenge Academy. Although I may not have knew him as well as most of those who have already commented before me, I can honestly say that Mr. Pichardo was a very intelligent and proud individual. From the short span of time that I had to interact with him, I learned that he was a person that held his family and friends in high regards. I pray for Christian’s family through this difficult time, and I also pray that justice will prevail. Gone too soon but definitely never forgotten. Rest in peace…

  • RIP Christian

    Mr. O.O
For you to say something that is completely immature. Regardless if Christian was in a gang or not, no one deserves that. I never met him but I talked to him on the phone because he was my best friend’s boyfriend. He was a sweet and genuine guy. You on the other hand, are completely immature, and you need to grow up.
    RIP Christian.

  • Tio Rene Alvarado Jr

I had the great pleasure and honor of getting to know and spend time with Christian on a trip to Mexico about 5-7 years ago. He really knew how to carry his own weight even at a young age. He was funny, witty, and a joy to be around. He made a big impact in my life and heart even thought we had spent a limited amount of time together. My heart and prayers go out to you Mari, Lauren, Horacio, and the rest of the family. My biggest regret was not making an effort to spend more time with Christian, but I’m comforted by the fact that we will eventually be united again under God. I love and miss you Christian.
