OSWEGO, Ill. (STMW) — Police are looking for a man who stabbed a 57-year-old woman in the chest during an attempted home invasion Monday morning in an unincorporated area in west suburban Oswego.

A man came to a home in the 0 – 100 block of Frontier Trail in Oswego about 11:35 a.m. and told the 57-year-old woman inside he was selling something, according to a release from the Kendall County Sheriff’s office.

While in the doorway, he stabbed the woman in the chest with a knife and pushed her down, the release said. He fled on foot.

Paramedics took the woman to Rush Copley Hospital in Aurora, where she was treated and released, the release said.

Sheriff’s police searched the area, but were unable to find the attacker, the release said. He is described as a black man in his 30s with short hair, no facial hair and a black T-shirt.

Anyone with information should call the Kendall County Sheriff’s office at (630) 553-7500 or anonymously at (630) 553-5999.
