CHICAGO (CBS) On Tuesday, the Chicago Cubs placed starting pitcher Matt Garza on the disabled list with a right elbow bone contusion, the team announced.

Garza was scheduled to start on Sunday in Fenway Park, but was scratched due to elbow tightness.

He’ll join outfielder Marlon Byrd (facial fractures), Geovany Soto (left groin strain), Andrew Cashner and Randy Wells on the DL.

Garza’s DL-stint will be retroactive to May 18.
