Traffic Aide Injured During Wrigleyville Hit-And-Run

CHICAGO (STMW) – A woman directing traffic was hit by a vehicle that reportedly fled the scene in the Wrigleyville neighborhood Saturday afternoon.

Paramedics responded at 3:17 p.m. to the intersection of Clark Street and Patterson Avenue for a traffic aid who was hit by a vehicle, according to Fire Media Affairs spokesman Joe Roccasalva.

The woman was taken to Thorek Memorial Hospital in good condition, according to Roccasalva.

She works for the city’s Office of Emergency Management and Communication, according to Roccasalva. A spokesman for OEMC was not immediately available.

Unconfirmed dispatch reports indicate a white Nissan pickup truck fled the scene after striking the woman.

We are so sorry to hear that someone has heen hit by a hit and run individual. Ussually this people drive drunk or are in drugs or dislike women standing in the middle of the way instead of being at home taking care of the children. Please be careful with the drunks. They come out of the parties that goes around and then start hitting people and running away. Get this idiot and get his face on TV so we will be be careful not to cross his way next time.
Is there any description of him or her?

WBBM NewsRadio also reported the police caught the person who had NO DRIVERS LICENSE. Why haven’t they updated this news story?

I’ll bet you there are thousands of drivers in Chicago/suburbs who have no drivers license, no insurance.

I was hit by an idiot head-on last year, he had no license, no insurance. I was injured and as a result had to sue my own auto insurance company.

I hope Rahm and the lawmakers can come up with a solution to this huge problem. You find out that drivers don’t have licenses or insurance AFTER they run someone over.
