Crain: 'Huge' First Win For John Danks

CHICAGO (WSCR) John Danks has allowed four or fewer runs in seven of his last 10 starts, but until Monday night, didn't have a win on the season.

When asked how big it was for the team to watch Danks pitch his best game of the season, and earn his first win, reliever Jesse Crain's answer was simple"

"Huge," Crain said on the Mully and Hanley Show.

"I mean, to have him finally get that win. And the way he did it was awesome. He threw 7.1 [innings], one run, one unearned run, I mean, is pretty impressive. And that's what we needed coming off that series loss to Detroit. We needed to come out and win this first game, and it was a huge win for the team, probably even a bigger one for John, hopefully he can put together a few more."

So far this season, the White Sox haven't been able to live up to their expectations. But if Monday's start is a sign that Danks has broken out of his slump, then team's fight to climb the AL Central standings might get a little easier.
