GURNEE, Ill. (STMW) — An Indiana man has been charged with criminal sexual assault after a Gurnee woman said she awoke to find him on top of her, police said Tuesday.

Jonathan Maguire, 27, of Greenwood, Ind., was visiting a home in the 5400 block of Parkside Court in Gurnee on Monday when he allegedly assaulted the woman, said Gurnee Police Cmdr. Jay Patrick.

Several people had been drinking in the home, including Maguire and the 29-year-old alleged victim, Patrick said. The woman and her husband live in the home.

The woman told police she went to sleep and woke up with Maguire allegedly on top of her, Patrick said. She ran out of the room and told her husband, who was in another room of the house with other people.

They called police, and an investigation followed, Patrick said.

Maguire was arrested at the scene. He was charged Tuesday with two counts of felony criminal sexual assault, Patrick said.

Bond had not yet been set for him as of late Tuesday. He’s being held in Lake County Jail.
