Woman Pleads Guilty To Lying To Police About Rape

JOLIET, Ill. (STMW) - A Will County woman who falsely claimed she was kidnapped and raped last year pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct on Wednesday.

Kristy L. Partyka, 31, of Braidwood was originally charged with filing a false report in October.

Will County State's Attorney spokesman Chuck Pelkie said she will face up to six years in prison when she's sentenced on Aug. 22. Partyka had been on probation for a similar crime in Livingston County.

Partyka told Manhattan police she was abducted and raped, according to court documents.

But Pelkie said the woman got into a fight with her boyfriend at a Manhattan bar and then didn't return home until two days later. That's when she made the false report to police, he said. She was tested with a rape kit at Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet.
