Review Of City Credit Cards Continues

CHICAGO (WBBM) — Mayor Rahm Emanuel says his administration is reviewing the way city departments and their sister agencies have been using city credit cards.

After news reports that there has been abuse of city credit cards among some department officials in various agencies, Mayor Emanuel revoked the cards.

He says he wanted to make it clear that city cards were not extensions of officials’ personal credit cards. Now, he says he’s hired a firm to review the way the cards have been used for the past two years.

The Mayor says he’ll wait for the results of the review, but he says the message to his department heads is that the culture of accountability is here.

Why on earth does he need to hire someone to tell him how the cards are being used? Aren’t there monthly records, printouts, etc.? What kind of outfit are they running there? No one on earth does business and accountability as loosely and poorly as City Hall. No one should have job there when this “investigation” is finished. Almost forgot, Is Patrick & Richie Daley’s firm part of the Investigation team?

Is there any reason why none of my messages get posted? I’m not writing anything inflammatory. Just supporting our mayor.

Oh I get it. The reason my messages weren’t being posted is because I used my e-mail address. Messages not posted. When I use, messages get posted. Wah-la.

It all depends on which e-mail addy you use. Shameful isn’t it?
