Missing Michigan Woman's Body Found In Northwest Indiana

HOBART, Ind. (CBS) -- Police believe a body they have found in Northwest Indiana is that of a missing Michigan woman.

The body was found around 9:15 a.m. Thursday behind a Toys 'R' Us store, the Northwest Indiana Times reported. It was in a swamp behind the store, which is between Hobart and Merrillville, Ind.

Lake County, Ind., Sheriff's police Deputy Commander Rob Arnold said the body is likely that of Dawn Fital, a competitive billiards player who lived in Pittsfield Township, Mich., just south of Ann Arbor, CBS Detroit reported. Fital has been missing this week.

Sheriff's police said the body showed signs of foul play.

Fital's boyfriend, 44-year-old Gregory Noack, is charged with murder and was being held in Crown Point, Ind.

Police said based on statements the boyfriend has made to them they believe Fital, 45, was victim of a homicide. Pittsfield Township officers, Wednesday, checked the woman's apartment she shared with the man at the Arbor Knoll Apartment complex and found evidence of a crime.

This month, Fital won at least $600 at a pool tournament in Las Vegas, the Northwest Indiana Times reported.
