By Adam Hoge-

CHICAGO (CBS) Gordon Beckham will sit for the third straight game tonight as the White Sox take on Matt Garza and the Cubs.

Omar Vizquel will start at second base again as Ozzie Guillen continues to give Beckham a break. Meanwhile, Brent Morel returns to third base despite Mark Teahen playing well there the last two games. Juan Pierre will leadoff with Brent Lillibridge coming off the bench again.

Beckham was in an 0-for-12 slump before his recent benching. He took early batting practice with hitting coach Greg Walker a little less than four hours before Tuesday’s game and was even taking some swings left-handed.

Meanwhile, the Cubs lineup features Reed Johnson leading off and playing centerfield in place of Kosuke Fukudome. Starlin Castro bats second with Jeff Baker batting third as tonight’s designated hitter.

Here are the lineups for both teams tonight:

Chicago Cubs

Reed Johnson – CF

Starlin Castro - SS

Jeff Baker – DH

Aramis Ramirez – 3B

Geovany Soto – C

Alfonso Soriano – LF

Carlos Pena – 1B

Lou Montanez – RF

DJ LeMahieu – 2B

Matt Garza – P

Chicago White Sox

Juan Pierre – LF

Omar Vizquel – 2B

Carlos Quentin – RF

Paul Konerko - 1B

Adam Dunn – DH

Alexei Ramirez - SS

A.J. Pierzynski - C

Alex Rios - CF

Brent Morel - 3B

Mark Buehrle – P

Stupid. You need Gordon’s glove with a contact pitcher. He has way more range that a 44 year old Vizquel. Amazing how quick Ozzie is to punish any player besides Juan Pierre.

As far as I am concerned Gordon has been a big disapointment.
The way he swung the bat when they first brought him up is no where close to the way he has swung the bat the last two years. He started to hit better last year after another bad start but reverted to that form this year.
Here’s hoping he gets back to that first year form

I’m starting to see a pattern here. Good sluggers come up and learn bad habits with the White Sox. Maybe it’s time for Greg Walker to take a walk.
