Police Search For Vandals That Damaged Church

YORKVILLE, Ill. (WBBM) -- The Kendall County sheriff's office is looking for whoever's responsible for shooting a BB gun and damaging stained glass windows at a historic church in Yorkville.

Just last year the Plattville United Methodist Church in Yorkville celebrated its 150th anniversary and later this year the stained glass windows will be 100 years old.

"The stained glass is just beautiful."

Pastor Jodeen Immer says the congregation has been devastated ever since they discovered that stained glass window panes had been damaged by BB pellets.

Kendall County Sheriff's Deputy Craig French says investigators have been trying to find whoever shot the BB gun.

"It's really a horrible crime, damaging something like that."

Deputy French says Crimestoppers in Kendall County is offering a reward up to one thousand dollars for information leading to an arrest.
