Schuster: Danks Injured
By: David Schuster
The last thing the White Sox could afford on Saturday was a short appearance from their starter but that's exactly what happened as John Danks left early with an injury.
After throwing a pitch Danks clutched his side and tried to stay in the game but wasn't able to. He left without getting out of the 2nd innning with Brian Bruney taking over.
Danks was later diagnosed with a strained right oblique and into the game in the 5th inning came Jake Peavy and for Peavy it was his 1st major league relief appearance.
The Sox could ill afford a short outing after they used up their bullpen in a 14 inning loss on Friday night.
